Troubles and the Church: Staying on Target
Series: Past Sermons
There are troubles that happen whenever people get together. We have looked at a few troubles in the church so far. Troubles that started within the church. Today we are going to see a trouble that was outside of the church, and tried to work its way in. A real church, a church that is healthy with Christians growing in their faith, does not get to go through life unopposed. This is a fact that was seen even in the earliest church. Join us as we continue our study of Acts 5. #stjoecofc #ComeAndSee #Destination2021 #TroublesandtheChurch

Troubles and the Church: Going Through The Motions
    Series: Past Sermons
Do you sometimes just go through the motions? Work. School. Do you ever go through the motions of church? As we continue our study through the book of Acts, we now come to several events that showcase troubles in the church. Last week we looked at how the church handled being told to stay silent, to stop preaching and teaching about Jesus. Today we are going to see a very odd trouble in the church and how the church responded. #stjoecofc #ComeAndSee #Destination2021 #TroublesandtheChurch Check out our YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/StJoeChurchofChrist

    The Early Church’s Message
    Series: Past Sermons
Let's take a trip back to last week. Peter and John were on their way into the temple walking through those huge brass gates. They stopped and healed a crippled man. This did not happen somewhere in a quiet corner. This was very public. There could have been somewhere around two million people attending the feast of Passover. Most everyone would be coming and going to the temple. There would be huge crowds attending every service, going through the same gates where Peter and John healed this man. Peter’s first sermon followed this miraculous event. Join us as we hear Peter's first sermon. #stjoecofc #ComeAndSee #Destination2021 #TheChurch

    The Church on the Move
    Series: Past Sermons
In this series we will be looking at The Church. From the “Infant” Church, established in Acts 2. Many churches carrying the name of Christ, can sink into the mindset of thinking that church is all about us; that our life together as a congregation is all about getting my needs met, my spiritual itch scratched. I think it must be heartbreaking to our Savior. The Church was giving a Destination. Jesus directed all believers to GO. “And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  But how? Join us as we find out.  #stjoecofc #ComeAndSee #Destination2021 #TheChurch Check out our YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/StJoeChurchofChrist

    Acts: Peter’s Sermon
    Series: Past Sermons
Two weeks ago, we looked at the beginning of Acts 2, where we had seen God do an amazing, jaw-dropping event! The people had just seen Jesus, perfect and magnificent, ascend to Heaven to be seated at the right hand of God. Followed by tongues of fire and the gift of the Holy Spirit! How do you follow that up? What happened next? Peter stands up and reminds them of who it was that crucified Him. How did the crowd respond?  Join us as we find out! #stjoecofc #ComeAndSee #Destination2021 #TheBookofActs
